Latest News : The Telangana State Special Police Battalions is one of the elite armed Police forces within the Telangana State Police constituted for dealing with serious law and order situations requiring a higher level of armed expertise than normal. The TSSP is organized on the lines of the paramilitary forces and have specialized training and weaponry to support in the maintenance of law and order and operations against anti-national outfits when necessitated. The TSSP Battalions are placed at key locations across State and activate upon the directions of the Chief of Police of the Telangana State when required to support the Civil Police in maintenance of situations, contingencies and events which go beyond the capacities and cut across jurisdictions of the local police. The Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) is constituted of 13 Battalions in the State, (of which 8 are Indian Reserve Battalions, 4 General Battalions and 1 Tribal Battalion). The TSSP also functions as the predominant feeder organization to other specialized State level outfits. As the Addl.           TSSP has conducted training/Coaching classes in the battalions for the aspirants who were preparing for appearing in the Police Department entrance examinations. 7 Battalions (Viz., 1, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13) conducted these classes, and even provided meals, books wherever possible. A total of 3095 joined training for the Preliminary Examination and continued training for the PMT& PET. Out of which 71% of them qualified to appear for Mains Examinations.
                                  HARITHA HARAM:
          As part of the State Government’s initiative “Haritha Haram” various fruit bearing and shade giving plants were planted as part of the above programme in all TSSP Bns. Saplings of various avenue, fruit bearing and shade giving plants were planted in all the TSSP Bns. The greenery in the Battalions campuses have been exponentially improved, each Battalion covers an area of about 100-150 Acres. The Commandants of 2 Battalions were awarded by the district administration for exemplary contribution in this initiative.
                                  BLOOD DONATION & PLASMA DONATION:
          TSSP conducts Blood Donation camps every year in view of the Police Commemoration Week. TSSP Personnel donated blood of about 3,000 units during the last 5 years in the camps organized. TSSP Personnel have consistently donated Blood to thalassemia and other chronic disease patients. They have responded to the SOS calls from various hospitals to provide blood for critical patients. During the COVID – 19 pandemic TSSP Personnel donated Plasma to the COVID affected patients. The Command & Control Centre, TSSP HQ prepared a database of persons eligible for donating plasma. C&CC TSP HQ helped several patients who were in need of plasma.
                                  HELPING HANDS:
          TSSP employees have come to together on a voluntary platform called as “Helping Hands” with intent to help the people in need during this COVID – 19 pandemic. TSSP employees’ part of Helping Hands have voluntarily contributed basic essential commodities to the people effected by the lockdown and also provided meals to the attendants of COVID – 19 infected patients. During the first wave of COVID – 19, the Commandants 5th 6th 7th 12th 13th and 15th Battalions distributed basic necessities to the migrant workers and other people who are in urgent need.
